In 2016 a group of guys got together to play some music at Chris Matthews house in Orangevale, California. They had no real plan, just a jam and see where it went. “It” became The Vintage Find and two years later with a full setlist of original tunes, and a few tasty covers, they’re playing in some major festivals and many of the best Sacramento area venues like the popular Gaslight and Power House Pub in Folsom. They have become a must-see Americana act.
Chris Matthews, Ken Burnett, and Mark Siefert all contribute well-crafted songs to make up a setlist of all “A” side tunes. And with long-time journeyman drummer, Chris Amato, bassman, Adrian Baxmeyer, and guest appearances by pedal steel wizard, Jonathon Jimmerson, this band is complete. Go to their shows and you’ll understand immediately why they are starting to get serious attention. It gets you in the arms first, then the legs, and soon your whole body will be dancing with everyone else.
Vintage Find expects to have a full-length album of tunes by the summer of 2019. They have been working on that project for a bit now and it’s getting close to ready for festival season. Two years is not a lot of time to come from a “jam” in the garage to a full-blown headliner band, but there it is.
